Overview
The story goes that Zenith uncovered a small box in the attic of the manufacture that contained a series of El Primero dials including a never-before-seen version with three different shades of blue. Likely hidden there by Zenith legend Charles Vermot during the quartz crisis, it is assumed the dial was a prototype for the original A386 launched in 1969. Of course, given the discovery story and how beautiful the dial was, Zenith couldn’t help but make a re-edition for it in 2020. The watch was originally intended to be offered exclusively to visitors of the manufacture, but has been made available through their e-commerce website throughout the pandemic and continues to be offered there for collectors who want to own a modern piece of Zenith’s history. In keeping with the theme, the watch is housed inside a gorgeous special edition box with a pattern that mimics blueprints of the manufacture.
