What is your authenticity guarantee?
Each watch is thoroughly evaluated and guaranteed to be authentic unless explicitly stated otherwise. Prior to any sale, we are happy to provide additional photos or videos of the watch, movement, and accessories at your request. Once you receive the watch, we allow a 72-hour inspection period during which you may return the watch for a full refund if it is misrepresented.
How do you verify your watches?
We spend a considerable amount of time researching any watch we plan to source. This includes cross-checking the visual details, case numbers, and movements using examples sold by other reputable dealers and buying guides published by subject matter experts. We set very high standards and will not consider any watch with questionable parts or inconsistencies that cannot be verified elsewhere.
What is your mechanical guarantee?
Each watch is extensively tested and guaranteed to be fully functioning and running within -10 to +20 seconds per day unless explicitly stated otherwise. Prior to any sale, we are happy to provide photos or videos of the timegrapher readings at your request. Once you receive the watch, we allow a 72-hour inspection period during which you may return the watch for a full refund if it is not functioning as guaranteed.
How do you test your watches?
We fully wind each watch and run it on a timegrapher to measure the beat rate, amplitude, and beat error at six different positions (dial up, dial down, crown up, crown down, 12:00 up, 12:00 down). These readings are documented within the Performance section of each listing. In addition, we manually test each of the watch's functions and complications to ensure they are working properly. Any watch that is running on average beyond -10 to +20 seconds per day, has an amplitude at the horizontal positions below 250°, has an average beat error above 0.5 milliseconds, or exhibits any malfunction is sent to a watchmaker and serviced prior to being offered for sale.
What if I experience an issue beyond the allowed inspection period?
If you experience any issue regarding a watch's authenticity or operation beyond the allowed inspection period, please contact us.
As a general rule, after the 72-hour inspection period we cannot make mechanical guarantees for a watch. As such, it will then become the responsibility of the buyer to uphold the maintenance of the watch through regular servicing intervals.
If the watch is sold with an active manufacturer or service warranty, then such warranty is assumed to be transferred to the buyer at the time of sale and is subject to its original terms. We are happy to assist with any followup servicing for watches that are under a service warranty.
Condition Grades
What are your condition grades?
We use the following rubric to assign each watch a condition grade that best represents its external appearance.
What is your condition evaluation process?
We carefully inspect our watches in bright, natural lighting and compare them against other examples sold on the market to determine their relative condition. We look for any signs of aging, wear, or polishing and document them within the Condition section of the listing.
How can I be sure your evaluation is accurate?
We take high-resolution close-ups of the watch at different angles and provide them for your review. The nature of these photos tends to magnify and highlight any imperfections so you can see exactly what you are getting.
Orders & Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment can be made via one of the following methods:
- Credit Card: Click the ‘Add to Bag’ button and select 'Credit Card' as your payment method during checkout. You will be prompted to enter your credit card details to complete the transaction.
- PayPal: Click the ‘Add to Bag’ button and select 'PayPal' as your payment method during checkout. You will be re-directed to PayPal to complete the transaction.
- Wire Transfer: Click the ‘Inquire’ button to contact us for instructions. Transactions using this method are subject to a 3% discount off this listing price.
Can I pay in installments?
We allow payments to be spread out over a time period of up to 4 weeks on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us prior to purchasing to see if this is an option. A minimum initial deposit of $1,000 is required. Your order will be shipped once the final payment is received.
Do you charge sales tax?
Since we are located in Chicago, we are required by law to collect a 10.25% sales tax on all deliveries within the state of Illinois. We do not collect sales tax on orders that ship outside of Illinois.
Can I cancel my order?
We will accept cancellation of your order for items that have not yet shipped. Once an item has shipped, cancellation will not be accepted.
Shipping & Delivery
Do you offer free worldwide shipping?
All watches, regardless of their value or destination, ship for free using an expedited service with signature confirmation. We can deliver to over 80 countries outside of the United States, including most major markets. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that your country is available for international shipping.
What shipping providers do you use?
You may use the following table to determine the carrier and service available for your location.
Do you insure your shipments?
All shipments are insured at the full sale value through either IFS Inforsure or Secursus. Shipments within the United States that are valued at $5,000 or above must be held for pick-up at your local FedEx Ship Center.
When will my order ship and how can I track it?
Orders normally ship within 1 business day after payment has been received in full. We will provide a tracking link that you can use to check the status of your delivery.
Will I have to pay import fees?
International buyers are solely responsible for any customs charges, taxes, or duties imposed during importation. Please consult your country's customs authority to determine any fees you should expect to pay.
What happens if my watch is lost or damaged in the mail?
All watches are securely packed with bubble wrap and padding to minimize the risk of damage during transit. In the unlikely event that your watch is lost by the carrier or arrives damaged, we can work through a claims process with our insurance company.
Do you offer local pick-up?
We're happy to arrange a local pick-up of your order at an agreed upon location within Chicago. Please note that this will constitute delivery within the state of Illinois and is therefore subject to a 10.25% sales tax. The cost of shipping will be deducted from the final price.
Returns
What is your return policy?
All sales are final unless the watch is misrepresented, arrives damaged, or is not functioning as guaranteed. Once the watch is delivered, we allow a 72-hour inspection period during which you can make a return request under one of these conditions. Watches cannot be returned for any reason beyond this timeframe.
How do I return my order?
If you would like to request a return, please contact us with the issue you are experiencing to initiate a review process. In the event a return request is reviewed and accepted, we will provide a shipping label and instructions for sending the watch back to us for inspection.
When will I receive my refund?
Once we receive the watch and confirm the problem, we will promptly issue a full refund back to your original payment method. You should receive your funds within 5 business days of issuance.
Consignment
How does the consignment process work?
As your consignee we evaluate the condition of your watch and propose a market-appropriate price for your review. Once approved, we take high-resolution photos and market the listing across our various channels, consulting you on all offers and negotiating on your behalf.
What are your commission rates?
We use a tiered rate structure based upon the net sale value of your watch after any payment processing fees. Please refer to the table below to determine the applicable commission rate for your timepiece.
Privacy
Do you sell or store any of my personal information?
Any information you provide on this website, in person, over the phone, or in any digital format will never be sold or given to a third party. Our online checkout experience is powered by Ecwid, which uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and keep you logged in (“essential” cookies); to measure effectiveness of our campaigns and analyze depersonalized data to improve performance of our site (“non-essential” cookies).
