Overview
Conceived in an era where Tudor watches were essentially Rolex cases fitted with ETA movements, the Prince Date+Day is the steel Day-Date that the crown never dared to make. The reference 76214 represents the final run of this model and was primarily sold in Eastern markets, thanks in part to Tudor’s discontinuation of sales in North America between 2004 and 2013. Examples of the 76214 have slowly filtered into the West, but remain largely scarce here, especially variants like this one with its vibrant blue dial.
Those who’ve hunted this reference know that the blue dial is the rarest and most desirable configuration. The color is a deep and rich tone, muted in the shadows but electric in the sunlight. Some collectors who own this watch liken it to an Yves Klein blue. Squint hard enough and you might even mistake it for a white gold Lapis Lazuli. Despite being a pared down Rolex alternative, this little Prince offers a mighty punch for its price point.
