Overview
During the mid 2000s, Omega introduced a Railmaster variant within its Seamaster Aqua Terra line, drawing inspiration from the iconic reference CK2914 from 1957. Like most Aqua Terra watches of this era, the new Railmaster edition was offerred in a diverse array of sizes, including 36mm, 39mm, 41mm, and a dramatically oversized 49mm unique to this series. At that time, the prevailing trend for large watches was at its peak, resulting in the bigger options being the more popular choices while the 36mm version remained readily available even after the discontinuation of the line in 2012.
Ironically, the recent shift back towards smaller watches has led to a surge in demand for the 36mm Railmaster, making it now the most sought-after size among collectors. However, due to its limited production numbers, acquiring this specific size has become increasingly difficult. Often compared to the similarly designed Rolex Explorer I, the 36mm Railmaster, with its charming proportions and perfectly symmetrical dial, offers quite a compelling proposition for those with enough patience, persistence, and good fortune to find one.

Condition
Case: The stainless steel case shows light wear, with a few hairlines, light scratches, and faint nicks present. The overall impression is clean. The faceted lugs remain thick and well-defined. The condition of the caseback is consistent with the rest of the watch, showing light wear with no major imperfections. The backs of the lugs show faint signs of prior bracelet removal. The model, brand, and serial number engravings remain sharp and detailed.
Dial, Hands, & Crystal: The matte black dial and polished hands are very well-preserved with no notable imperfections and fully functioning Super-LuminNova. The front sapphire crystal has a micro scratch near the center just below the hands. The rear sapphire crystal is squeaky clean and scratch-free.
Bracelet/Strap: The Omega stainless steel bracelet is in fantastic condition with little-to-no stretch and practically no signs of wear. The overall impression is very clean. The raised Omega logo on the clasp remains sharp and detailed.
Performance
Functions: All functions including the crown winding and time setting are working as expected.
Service History: The watch underwent a full service by Omega Japan that was completed on 08/24/2021.
